Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Michael and I'm a landscape photographer located in, well… my van! 

In the summer of 2023 I converted a minivan to be my photography adventure mobile. Between travel nursing contracts, I'll be traveling around the western United States in persuit of the lesser known, yet beautiful creations of Mother Earth. 

My photography journey started around the same time as many people, when they first purchaned an iPhone… it actually took semi decent photos and was enough to get me hooked. Later I bought a used Canon T3 along with some lenses from a coworker. Since then I’ve used way too many cameras and lenses to count. I came to realize that the quality of an image ultimately depends on the person behind the camera. So, I encourage everyone to make the most of what they already have and learn to see the beauty in their surroundings.

Over the years, my photography style has evolved, but one theme remains constant: simplicity and tranquility. Through my images, I aim to create a sense of peace, while also inspiring viewers to uncover the hidden beauty in their own world. While I do appreciate grand and dramatic landscapes, my true strength lies in capturing the often overlooked gems.

In 2021 and 2022 I attempted to hike the pacific crest trail, a 2,650 mile long trail from mexico to canada. While I still have much of washington and oregon to finish, I had the time of my life and learned a lot. They say the trail changes you, and it has.  I learned to be content with the bare minimum, the importance of pursuing our dreams, and the responsibility we have to preserve the natural world.

Combining my love for photography and hiking felt like a natural progression for me. So, welcome once again to my website. Take a look around, and I hope my images leave you feeling peaceful and inspired to appreciate the hidden beauty that surrounds us all.
